Training the Turkish gendarmerie in European Human Rights standards

This EU-funded projects seeks to consolidate a democratic system in Turkey that adheres to the laws and upholds the human rights established in the Copenhagen Criteria.

For two years, experts from the National Police Force will work with their Turkish counterparts to improve the Turkish Gendarmerie's skills and knowledge of European human rights and ethical standards. This will be done by means of training activities that will facilitate nationwide application. They will also work to improve interrogation methods in judicial investigation processes.
