Support to the Public Security Directorate in the fight against organised crime in Jordan
Jordan
Jordan has a strategic geographical location, acting as a connecting point between Europe, Asia and Africa. While this location offers opportunities for regional cooperation, it also makes Jordan vulnerable to transnational organised crime, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, cybercrime and financial crime, which are exacerbated by the geopolitical instability in the region.
The project aims to strengthen Jordan's capacity to effectively combat transnational organised crime, focusing on improving the operational capabilities of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), Jordan's main law enforcement agency, in particular its Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Special Branch (SB). It also seeks to promote a safer environment by adhering to international and European best practices, underlining the European Union's commitment to fostering stability and promoting justice in one of the most strategically significant regions in the world.
The project will not only strengthen capacities in proactive research methods and data-driven decision-making, but will also promote the integration of advanced technologies and contribute to the expansion of cross-cutting cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
