Strengthening resources and the quality of service to taxpayers in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan
As the continuation of an earlier twinning project carried out in 2013, the European Commission is financing this 24-month project, to be managed once again by FIIAPP with the collaboration of Bulgaria and Lithuania. Experts from Spain's AEAT and IEF, along with experts from France's Directorate-General of Public Finance, will work with their Azerbaijani counterparts with the overall objective of modernising the tax administration in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As a result of creation of the Ministry of Taxes (MOT) in the year 2000 and adoption of the country's tax code, the Azerbaijani government is taking significant steps to fully develop a modernisation programme for the tax system and the tax administration.
