Mobilisation of specialists in public policies on migration

FIIAPP has signed a framework agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the provision of specialised technical assistance for public policies on migration. The Foundation facilitates the exchange of specialists in the field, taking into account the different national, regional and local situations in Latin America and the Caribbean. FIIAPP's objective is to contribute improvements from the perspective of the migrant population and the challenges presented to migrants by the host communities.

In recent times, migratory movements in Latin America and the Caribbean have been increasing in importance. Mixed flows, movements of unaccompanied minors, movements of migrants in Central America, the Venezuelan migration crisis and the situation in Haiti are clear signs of the need to adopt measures to strengthen migration governance in the region.

The proposal consists of meeting the needs of society as a whole, including the specific needs for the reception, accommodation and inclusion of the migrant population, addressing the gaps in the receiving communities, and improving the benefits and living conditions of society as a whole.
