Frente a redes criminales cada vez más complejas, el Ministerio Público incorpora tecnología especializada para potenciar sus investigaciones.
“Visual Perú” is an intelligence and document management tool designed to strengthen high-complexity investigations conducted by specialized prosecutor’s offices focused on organized crime, corruption involving public officials, money laundering, and asset forfeiture. The Public Prosecutor’s Office officially received the donation during a formal ceremony held at its central headquarters, as part of ongoing institutional strengthening efforts to combat organized crime.
The specialized software was donated by FIAP through the project “Support to Law Enforcement in the Fight against Drugs and Organized Crime in Peru.” The donation reflects the European Union’s commitment to strengthening judicial cooperation and Peru’s institutional framework.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Acting Attorney General, Tomás Gálvez Villegas, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Peru, Jonathan Hatwell, along with senior officials from the Office of the Attorney General and representatives of the European judicial cooperation project.
In his remarks, the Ambassador of the European Union to Peru highlighted the positive impact that the “Visual Perú” software will have on the Peruvian justice system, as it will enable complex criminal structures to be presented clearly and visually before the courts. He also emphasized that the system facilitates strategic analysis of information, helping to identify recurring criminal patterns and drug trafficking routes that may previously have gone unnoticed due to fragmented data.
With this technological integration, the Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to advance its digital transformation strategy, aimed at strengthening its investigative capabilities and delivering a more efficient response to crimes with the greatest social impact.
